Ordering Pork

We are now taking Sausage, Sausage-meat, Chipolata & Porky parcel pre-orders in readiness for Christmas 2015

These products will be stunning and like nothing you can buy in the shops as we have used the prime meat as we do with our sausages, whereas most commercial Sausages are produced with the off-cuts. Prices are listed below.

If you require other cuts we take advance orders of various types from whole pigs, half pigs or quarters and on some occasions smaller quantities. Our most popular orders are for quarter “porky parcels” as listed below, as this represents a good mix of cuts, to stock up the fridge or freezer

‘PORKY PARCEL’ – CONTENTS

A typical quarter of pork will weigh around 25lb and costs £85 (approx £3.40 per lb, although this may not be precise due to the natural rearing process).

Each quarter will consist of the following cuts as standard;

• 2 Roasting joints, one boned and rolled, one bone in.

– 1 leg joint

– 1 shoulder joint

• 1 quarter of Pork belly

• Approximately 8 loin chops

• Approximately 2 Chump chops

• An assortment of sausages (between 2lb and 4lb depending on final weight)

• Multiple spare ribs (Approx 8 )

• Large piece of Pork liver

• 1 trotter

Alternative quantities and cuts are available upon request, although prices may vary. Your ‘Porky Parcel’ will be delivered or ready for collection vacuum packed and labelled, ready for the fridge/freezer.

THE DIFFERENCE

Compared to commercially reared pork our pigs represent a high quality product. The meat is dense and does not shrink in the oven when cooked. The flavour is packed with memories of how pork really used to taste plus the mouth watering crackling coming to you with real provenance and a detailed dietary history, you are really in ‘porky heaven’.

Once ordered, you are welcome to come and meet/feed the pigs by appointment, or you can follow their progress via our regular blogs
